Winter Clothing Needed - Easy Crochet Hat

Postby Donna » Sun Jul 19, 2009 4:16 pm

Hi Everyone.
Thanks to everyone that has helped in the past with winter clothing items for the children in the war torn areas. We ask once again anyone that is interested to help us for this Fall. If you sew, knit, or crochet you could start now on making items to be mailed next Fall. We need hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, afghans and etc.

If anyone needs a pattern let us know and we will provide one. If anyone has one to share please feel free to put it on the site so others can use it. Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Please help keep a child from freezing to death by simply getting involved. You can make as many or as few as you wish. You can keep them at your home and mail directly to the Troops when the time comes and an address will be provided. You can also mail them to Indiana when you want and they will be held until time to be mailed. Please include your name and email address when you mail.

Looking forward to hearing from you and posting your work on the site.

Thanks bunches,
Donna

Update,
Thank you to everyone that has been responding to this need. Some items have been mailed to Indiana for mailing this Fall and others have started working on items for this Fall.

We also welcome the offers of fleece blankets and quilts. We are looking forward to hearing from others.

Thanks,
Donna :)

PS If you need patterns we will send you one or use your own favorite pattern. Good project for church groups, ladies groups and etc.

Wow,
We are extremely grateful to all that have and continue to send winter hats, scarves, gloves, blankets and etc. to the troops for the children in the war torn areas. We will start mailing these items very shortly. Some of you have sent several boxes of hand made items and that is a real "gift of love". Every item sent is one more child having some protection from the bitter cold and windy winters that will soon be upon them.

In the future you can mail directly if you wish or you can still send to Indiana where they will be sent to a unit in need.

If anyone has access to winter items for the children please take the time to send them as your item you send could be saving a child from freezing to death and enabling our troops to know you are supporting them.

Have any other questions just let us know.

Thank you to everyone for your response to the need of warm clothing items for the children. We have mailed all the items that we have received to Troops requesting them and we ask that you continue helping in this area.

The items do not have to be new but we ask they be clean and in good condition. They do not have to be hand made. If you would like to help in this area you can now mail directly to the Troops.

You all are great!!!

A big thanks to everyone that participated in sending winter items and clothes. It was wonderful. Some have knitted and crocheted and sent boxes time after time. Others have sent children's clothing that has been used for children with very little clothing. You really do not know what a difference you are making in so many lives and how much our troops appreciate the opportunity to make a difference.

You are welcome to continue sending children's clothing but ask you to hold up on winter items until next Fall. We do encourage anyone that is wanting to keep making hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, afghans and etc. to do so. When the time comes next Fall we will be ready to supply as many needs as we can.

Once again anyone want to share any ideas or patterns or photos please feel free to do so. Looking forward to a nice send off for this Fall.

YOUR ARE THE BEST!!

If you sew, knit, or crochet you could start now on making items to be mailed next Fall. We need hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, afghans and etc.

Rummage sales are going on now and sometimes you can pick up hats, gloves and etc. at a very cheap price. As long as they are clean and in good shape they can be used.
